The ICOP-1800-V2 is a PC/104 multi-port serial module that adds four RS-232 asynchronous ports to any PC/104 embedded system. Built on a single TI TL16CP754C quad UART, it replaces the four discrete UARTs used on the original ICOP-1800, for a simpler, more reliable design with a wider -20°C to +70°C operating range.
Each port supports full RS-232 modem control signals (TxD, RxD, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, GND) at baud rates up to 115.2Kbps, making it suited for connecting legacy industrial equipment such as PLCs, barcode scanners, meters, modems, and serial instruments.
Flexible Configuration
I/O base address, IRQ, and interrupt vector are all jumper-selectable. The four ports occupy consecutive 8-byte blocks from the base address (Base+00h / 08h / 10h / 18h) and share one IRQ line, with an interrupt vector register that identifies which port triggered the interrupt. Multiple ICOP-1800-V2 modules can be stacked in the same PC/104 system.

What’s New in V2 (vs. ICOP-1800)
– Single TL16CP754C quad UART replaces four discrete UART chips
– Extended operating temperature: -20°C ~ +70°C (was 0°C ~ +55°C)
FAQ
Q: Can I use more than one ICOP-1800-V2 in the same system?
A: Yes. Set each module to a different I/O base address (JP1) and, if needed, a different IRQ (JP2).
Q: What are the default COM port addresses?
A: With the default base address 280h and IRQ 5: COM1 = 280h, COM2 = 288h, COM3 = 290h, COM4 = 298h. The default interrupt vector address is 2C0h.
Q: Does it support RS-422/485?
A: No. The ICOP-1800-V2 is an RS-232-only module.
