Preparation:
- Recovery image and the UUU burning software:
- Yocto 5.0 OS image: ICOP wiki – EBOX-IMX8MM
- Download UUU tool from https://github.com/NXPmicro/mfgtools/releases
- 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC x1 (Using virtual machine is not recommended)
- EBOX-IMX8MM Mini PC
- Micro USB to USB cable x1 (hereafter called Cable A)
Restore the Yocto Linux 5.0 via Win10 host PC to the EBOX-IMX8MM
This section will introduce how to write the image to the eMMC on the EBOX-IMX8MM step by step.
▼ Write the image to EBOX-IMX8MM eMMC.
- Use a jumper switching tool to change the EBOX jumper setting to Serial Download Mode.
- Find the SW1 on the EBOX-IMX8MM and change the setting to Serial Download Mode according to the photo below:

- Turn on your Windows PC, make sure the UUU tool is downloaded, and unzip the Yocto 5.0 OS image file.

- Open Command Prompt (cmd) or Terminal as Administrator, then use the
cdcommand to navigate to the unzipped folder directory.

- Execute the
uuu.exe 250114.autocommand and press Enter.
(Note: 250114.auto is the auto script filename. Please adjust the command according to your actual .auto file name.)

- Wait until “Known USB Device Appear…” is displayed, then connect the EBOX (without power attached) to your Windows PC using Cable A.

- Connect Cable A between the EBOX Mini PC and the Windows PC. The Windows PC will then automatically flash/copy the Yocto 5.0 OS image file to the EBOX Mini PC.

- Once the restoration process is completed, remove Cable A from the EBOX Mini PC.

- Use the jumper switching tool to set the jumpers back to Internal Boot Mode.

- Power on/Reboot the EBOX-IMX8MM to boot into the Yocto 5.0 desktop.
